Talk:Marguerite Moreno

career, friendship with Colette and Argentinian ancestry

edit

her stage success in The Madwoman of Chaillot should be mentioned, as should her lifelong very close friendship with Colette (Colette's biographers Fernande Gontier and Claude Francis say they were lovers, but Judith Thurman and Jean Chalon dispute this. It was certainly rumoured at the time) Colette was also a friend of Moreno's husband Marcel Schwob. She acted with Colette in the stage play of Colette's novel Cheri, written by Colette and Leopold Marchand, with Colette as Lea de Lonval and Moreno as Charlotte Peloux. She was half-French, half-Argentinian. 94.196.75.225 (talk) 13:30, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

she spoke Spanish and lived in Argentina, founding a national conservatory of arts there, she is featured in The Pure and the Impure by Colette, and was said by some critics to be the greatest classical Comedie Franciase actress of the century 188.29.137.145 (talk) 10:09, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
