REPHRASING OF AWKWARD SENTENCE
editThis awkward phrasing obviously needs to be adjusted: "By his mother's persuasions he began undertaking formal lessons later that year." "By", "persuasions" and "undertaking" are all contextually unsuitable.
For example: Complying with his mother's suggestions, Marc began formal piano lessons later that year.
