Did she materialize or was she actually born? If so, where?

Oh wait, a single line about her birth is actually there-- but somehow encapsulates her entire upbringing. Perhaps she was just fast-forwaded from birth.

From Sept. 1998 - June 1989, she took a leave of absence to attend Columbia University in New York.

"Philiosophy" Section Violates Wikipedia Standards

Equating a quote about White House press reporters with Liasson's personal philiosophy doesn't meet accurate source standards. A quote that claims, yet has no relation, to her personal philiosophy is not a legitimate source.

Abusive On-Air Treatment by Robert Segal at NPR, 11/1/2010

I heard it today and I couldn't believe it. Segal was so rude and intimidating to her on the air, she sounded terrified. It sounded like she is in trouble over there. It looks like they are running a purge over at NPR against moderates and center-Left people. How insane to treat them like "traitors".

We live in a time when the extremes on both sides have the upper hand and the rest of us are caught in the middle.

God help you these days if you are either center-Left or center-Right. I'm Center-Left and now I know that NPR hates me. I'm sure that Fox and the Tea Party hate me too. The middle is becoming a dangerous place to be.

Was it |this segment about the elections (the only thing I can find about a recent segment with Segal and Liasson)? If so, there's nothing in the transcript to indication rudeness on Segal's part so it may have been a matter of interpreting tone. The tones were very flagrant and not subtle in the least. It was certainly a very noticable break from the normal tone of professional exchange between reporters on the air. The best way to catch it would be to see if there is an audio link/recording for that newsday. **It aired in the early evening on "All Things Considered" on 11/1.

One should also note the section below this one, Liasson recieved a warning about her Fox news contributorship in fall of October 2009 as well. She has recieved 'warnings' in the past from NPR executives that show that NPR no longer has any room for moderates who work on both sides of the line.

We moderates are now seen as 'traitors' by both sides, and the situation with Liasson, as well as Juan Williams, shows how the Left-leaning NPR is doing it's own version of purging moderates.

The Summoning

Is it permissible to include information about her summons of October, 2009? According to a source, Liasson was summoned in early October by NPR's executive editor for news, Dick Meyer, and the network's supervising senior Washington editor, Ron Elving. The NPR executives said they had concerns that Fox's programming had grown more partisan, and they asked Liasson to spend 30 days watching the network. She was, in effect, forced by the administration to stop appearing on Fox, in accordance with the President's war on Fox. Isn't this a noteworthy and historic precedent for a President? Bias

This article, although short, reveals a bias against Liasson. This is a typical attack on people who are centrist in their politics. Whether Center-Left or Center-Right, people closer to the middle often get slammed by arrogant extremists of both the Right and the Left. A symptom of a divided country where the lunatics on both sides hold the high ground.

I don't see any bias here, but i wonder about the basis of the statements. Where does she describe herself as center left, for example  ? She has been a Republican, works at Fox as well as NPR, has had essentially right-wing-funded journalism grants, and spent 8 years reporting very snidely on the Clinton presidency--which was in clear and marked contrast to previous NPR White House reporting. I don't see any bias either. However, I would like to disagree with Action. Mara may be a regular panelist on Fox News, but not ALL panelists on Fox News are right-wing. Some are centrists (for instance: Mort Kondracke, center-right). Albeit, they do have a conservative slant, but Mara Liasson (and I watch Brit Hume frequently so I have some expertise in this matter) could very easily be described as center-left. If she is not center-left, she is certainly center-right ... not extreme right, because she constantly disagrees with Mr. Fred Barnes (ultra right) and Mr. Brit Hume (in between ultra right and center-right) and frequently disagrees with Mr. Mort Kondracke (center-right). It is, therefore, entirely conceivable that she could be center-left. In addition: what does NPR have anything do with being center-left or anything? Liasson has described herself as "Center-Left". I need to find the source but I remember it was one of the main cable news media outlets (in their online print edition) who quoted her. So no she is not a Right-Winger. But she is more Centrist than some "classic Left-wingers".

Copyright Issues

This bio appears to be cut and pasted from FoxNews, NPR and other sources. It seems to be a "canned" bio, but still violates WP:C. Or at the very least it's plagiarized and not up to Wiki's quality standard. SeaAndSand 01:26, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Reference problem?

Apparently this article has gone through some turmoil...it could be the start of something good at this point. As it stands though, there is only one reference, which itself is worthless. One reference is rather meager for the bio on a living person, isn't it? Perhaps not, as this is a very small article. But the reference given does not cover all of the facts put forward, nor does the reference itself seem very reliable.CsCran 23:13, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

And, here goes the nubie talking to himself again. The one "reference" for the article is meant as a trivia tag, it seems. So, yes, worthless. I will delete the whole bit (just the word "Trivia" and the unverifiable link).
