Talk:Mahindra Racing

Article Problems edit

This article had been flooded with lot of content from the official mahindra racing website, that's why I had to revert it to an older version.

Apart from copyrighted text inclusion, it also had an advertisement like language. e.g. -

* prestigious MotoGP World Championship (prestigious is a relative term, not factual)
* The USD$11.1 billion Mahindra Group (the figure is not going to be same forever, sounds boastful)
* The Mahindra 125cc GP racer is one of the most potent there is on the 2011 grid (boastful)

There were unnecessary sections added to the article. e.g. -

* About the FIM MotoGP World Championship
* About the Mahindra Group

Articles regareding both topics already exist in wikipedia. This article also wikilinks to those. No need for adding redundant unnecessary content in here.

There were too many external links given from different magazines. Not that they are unrelated completely, but if you refer the article then quote as reference, and if you don't refer that article, just leave it.

Don't try to make the article lengthy by copying contents. The article will automatically grow in content with time as the team will make new achievements.

Formula E edit

A section for Formula E results should be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.82.31.127 (talk) 21:31, 14 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Then go ahead and add it in. --Falcadore (talk) 13:04, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article Clean-up and proposal to remove sections. edit

I've done a large clean-up of the article, as it had many issues. Most of it seems to have been copied into the article by someone who works for Mahindra. I've done my best to clean up the obvious marketing fluff, but I would appreciate another editor having a look at what I've done. There are two sections that I think should be removed, but I would like to have someone else take a look before I do.JohnMcButts (talk) 21:19, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed removal of CIV Italian Championship Results edit

I'm not that familiar with Motorcycle Racing. From what I can tell the CIV championship is a national series, and the Mahindra team only competed in the lower categories (Moto3). Additionally, the notable results (First win, wining the championship) are already described in the prose.JohnMcButts (talk) 21:19, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed removal of Customer Teams List edit

This section seems excessive and is largely unsourced (some of it is duplicated information from the prose). I don't think it's terribly notable what riders rode on Mahindra bikes when they weren't actually competing for the team itself. At the very least, it should probably be shortened to just the teams that were supplied, instead of listing every driver for each team.JohnMcButts (talk) 21:19, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
