I don't understand why there are two initial images. They are slightly different, but it is due to the lighting conditions when the photographs were taken. Unless the photo uploaders have reasons for posting their images, I will delete the picture that is the least similar to another rendition found in a scholarly reference (Gardner's Art Through the Ages, 12th edition). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.125.206 (talk) 04:29, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
There were two images to reflect changes made during a restoration in 1994. It wasn't just the lighting that was different. As explained in the description, one of the angels was looking in a different direction, and there were other minor changes as well. Alonzopurr (talk) 21:05, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Stockstad's "History of Art" and Gardner's "Art Through the Ages" both say that this is a painting in the Mannerism period, not the High Renaissance.
