First in U.S. = First in World? Or Not?

edit

If MCI Mail was the first commercial e-mail service in the United States (or even, as other sources say, one of the first), doesn't that also mean first in the world? If so, the article should say that, shouldn't it? If not, shouldn't there be at least a cross-ref link for an earlier e-mail service in some other country, if there was one (which I'd find hard to believe, but it's possible)? Wikipedia is, after all, an international encyclopedia, not just an American one ...

Hi, my name is Colleen and I am a college student working on a semester long assignment of researching and editing the MCI Mail page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:0:4:830:58A5:EC02:CB27:FB44 (talk) 16:07, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
