Lonia is a hindu chauhan rajput branch found in eastern uttar pradesh they were real soldier of rajput community lonia is a group of rajput ( tomar, chauhan, solanki, parmar, sisodiya, pratihar, rathour, bhuyiar etc). According to historical evidence search by akhil bhartiya hitkarni mahasabha ( now akhil bhartiya kshatriya mahasabha) it is prove by high court of united provincess ( in 31 october 1949) and high court give order to all the district collector that they were doing any profession but now they can write rajput instead of lonia In 1985 lot's of lonia added into rajput community but lot's of remains also now they were called as lonia rajput who were educationally and economically backward . Actually in rajasthan chauhan rajput were concentrated in sambhar district near luni river when they were migrated during war they were come from luni river in uttar pradesh so they called as lonia, during prithviraj chauhan III they were alsk doing business of salt and they were soldiers in king prithviraj chauhan army. In 1671 during war between aurangzeb and dara sikoh they were migrated from their real community and some time involve in making salt, according to historical map of india 1885 and census of population they were comcentracted only in eastern uttar pradesh and some part of madhya pradesh. One another community NONIYA orginated from west bengal non river, some part of bihar, assam, according to mapp of 1885 their were no any community in uttar pradesh actually they were concentrated in this region they having same profession but they are the branch mallah, nishad, bind, beldar( sc ) community, mahto and presently they were concentrated in bihar, assam, west bengal Due to border between up and bihar in ballia, chandauli 10% nonia community are come in uttar pradesh now they were claiming that were also rajput but it's totally wrong and raise for st reservation and say that they were from mahadalits community( bind beldr, mahto, mallah, nonia) Their culture marriage and trafition match from west bengal having huge population in bihar According to raja of singramau jaunpur they have historical evidence that lonia are from rajput community. According to sites of history of rajput it is also mention that were branches of chauhan rajput their branches is hada, , lonia, songara etc that's a simple confusion between between lonia and nonia presently some political parties such as janvadi party and some leader like dara singh chauhan, dr. Sanjay chauhan for their political benefit they were trying to mixed both community for their political benefit.

Nonia Chauhan edit

The Lonia Rajputs or Chauhan Rajputs residing in Eastern Uttar Pradesh are said to have migrated to this region from Rajasthan in the 16th century. They are considered ancestors of the Chauhan rulers of Ranthambore and their army. Renowned for their bravery, they played a significant role as valiant soldiers who fiercely resisted Aurangzeb's army for over 150 years.

The Chauhan Rajputs have a storied history, and their migration from Rajasthan to Eastern Uttar Pradesh reflects the historical patterns of movement and settlement among various Rajput clans. The Chauhan rulers of Ranthambore, known for their martial prowess, left a lasting impact on the history of the region.

Particularly notable is their extended resistance against Aurangzeb's army, a period spanning more than a century and a half. This historical struggle against external forces underscores the resilience and bravery of the Chauhan Rajputs, who defended their territories against significant challenges.

The Chauhan Rajputs' legacy as courageous soldiers is intertwined with the broader history of medieval India, marked by the interactions and conflicts between regional rulers and the Mughal Empire. The endurance and valor displayed by the Lonia or Chauhan Rajputs in Eastern Uttar Pradesh during this period contribute to the rich tapestry of India's historical narratives.

The lonia rajput or chauhan rajput are residenting in eastern uttarpradesh they came to this place from Rajasthan in 16th century.

Inscriptions also associate them with Sambhar, the salt lake area in the Amber (later Jaipur) district. Chauhan politics were largely campaigns against the Chalukyas and the invading Muslim hordes.
