absolute location, meaning the exact location of an object edit

This is a poor definition: a relative location can be exact. The fact is that you can't describe the location of something without any frame of reference, and thus all locations must necessarily be relative locations. I think that the point that whoever wrote this is trying to make is that you can specify a location in a "standard" coordinate system, such as Latitude and Longitude (not that these have a single definition) or the OS Grid for those of you living in the UK, or you can specify it relative to some arbitrary location (5 miles west of my house). However, even the "standard" coordinate systems are relative locations, they are just relative to the origin of that system. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.198.108.162 (talk) 09:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Location edit

Everything on Earth has its own location-the place where it can be found. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.204.220.153 (talk) 22:14, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Location and place edit

Does 'place (geography)' need its own article or it is best for them to share an article. For now I have added just a bit of context about place to this article. I suggest we build on it here and then split the articles out if appropriate at a later time. PeterEastern (talk) 10:58, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Philosophy" section edit

I separated some vague philosophical babble into a separate section. As it stands, it doesn't deliver any encyclopedic information. I did not delete it outright in hopes someone expands them with some meaningful specifics. If this will not happen in 1-2 months, I am deleting it. Staszek Lem (talk) 16:06, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
