Genre
editI added "speed metal" as a genre; it was removed with the edit summary of "nonsense." My argument:
- Fast-paced heavy metal song
- Riffing that consists of multiple, very fast-paced single notes (tremolo), a main staple of speed metal
- Consistent snare-drum backbeat that sets the beat for the song (characteristic of speed metal)
- Use of fast-paced, double-bass drumming (characteristic of speed metal)
Speed metal does not refer to only thrash metal or heavier. It also includes less heavy songs that match the aforementioned characteristics. In fact, songs like "Exciter" by Judas Priest are considered speed metal and don't have the consistent characteristics that this song does. Helltopay27 (talk) 01:00, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- There is a difference between speed metal and simply playing heavy metal at a fast tempo. The main element that differs a speed metal song from a fast heavy metal song is that speed metal has a punk element to it. And this song has no punk qualities at all. - Punk elements formed thrash, not speed. I cite "Exciter" again, and the earlier "Tyrant" by Judas Priest. Both are considered speed metal songs, and neither incorporate punk elements. But even if using your definition, our own Wikipedia article on the album Too Fast for Love states that they incorporated punk elements. Helltopay27 (talk) 04:37, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Girlschool
editIt doesn't sound anything like that Girlschool song, that section should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.0.32 (talk) 19:27, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
