Opposing Renaming of this page

I strongly Oppose the rename that was made to this page from List of village development committees of Nepal to List of Rural Municipalities in Nepal. Renaming the page and editing this VDC page into Rural Municipality will make the data and VDC list disappear. Draft:List of Gaupalika is being worked on for some time now and this can be a better option, rather than renaming this page. Bishal Shrestha (talk) 16:02, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

List of Rural Municipalities in Nepal → List of village development committees of Nepal – The page was moved(1) without any discussion previously in talk page or Move discussion page. I strongly oppose and can not undo this change due to Wikipedia policies. This page should be renamed back to its original name and content be restored to the previous unscrambled version 2. The Draft:List of Gaupalika is being worked on and it can be served as a separate article rather than renaming the list of VDCs. This list of VDCs can serve as a historical evidence rather than renaming and modifiying the VDCs into Rural Municipality and it can also serve as a reference in making of Rural Municipalities page. The individual pages for the VDCs are historical evidence in itself. VDCs were renamed Rural Municipalities and serve the same purpose. If you do think that a page for listing old VDCs are needed, the page Village Development Committee should be used instead. User:Dirghayu12 (talk) 22:46, 12 June 2017 (NST)

• @Dirghayu12:, The Village Development Committee page is a descriptive article and listing the existing VDCs is a bad idea on it. The List of village development committees of Nepal should exist to maintain the record of VDCs and a new page should be created for list of Gaupalika/Rural Municipalities. @Fayenatic london:, would you mind stepping in? If you think that List of village development committees of Nepal page should exist I don't have any opposition. But I do think that having a list of VDC's in the page Village Development Committee would make sense since they don't exist anymore. User:Dirghayu12 (talk) 18:52, 13 June 2017 (NST)

• @Anthony Appleyard: - can you please intervene and speedily restore the version that existed before the undiscussed contested move? The should be a page for VDC, List of VDCs, and of course for the new units. But hijacking VDC and turning into a new topic is highly controversial. The controversial contested move shall be undone.     • I didn't notice that the pages were edited to match the new structure of rural municipality before too. As per the record, the Rural Municipality was announced on March 10, 2017 (Source cited in Gaupalika). All the changes made after the date can be reversed and [4] this version as of 1 February 2017 can be used as a restore point. The edits made after the announcement of Rural Municipality makes no sense howsoever. @78.51.247.123: That revision is fine as it is made for change in Municipality, not Rural Municipality and was before Gaupalika/Rural Municipality was announced. @Anthony Appleyard:, do ignore my previous suggestion for restore point, and do use this one Bishal Shrestha (talk) 16:07, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

            • I still think that there is a need for splitting. It's not just the edits made by him, but by a lot of people throughout the course after Rural Municipalities has been announced. [5] can explain the changes in comparision. A specific comparision can be noticed in Kathmandu section which contains list of Municipalities, the change which were brought after the Rural municipality and new municipality were brought into effect.               • Bishal Shrestha, but if only parts are affected, then a history split would also bring VDC content to another page.
