2020 in videogaming and archiving edit

Two questions: when do we "spin-off" 2020 into its own page? And should we see about archiving the first 20 or so items in the talk page, since they are 1) irregularly timed and 2) go back a little over ten years? --WTRiker (talk) 05:05, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Last year someone created the 2019 in video gaming page the day E3 officially started, or maybe it was the last day of the show, I can’t remember. I’m not sure if they’re planning on doing so again this year. redsparta ••• talk to me 07:50, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

The Expected Release Date for Final Fantasy VII Remake should be March 3 2020 instead of March 30 2020. The cited article shows the correct date. Mottman26 (talk) 14:48, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Star Citizen should be in the vapourware section edit

It has been acknowledged that the development of Star Citizen is currently in a phase that can be qualified as Development hell, and the lack of progress of the game has been noticed by several media, such as Wired (magazine) here — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyruspellet (talkcontribs) 04:15, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Doesn't it still get regular updates, as well as a planned beta for 2020? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 15:47, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • The so called "updates" do not contain any major gameplay or tech updates, and the planned beta is for their Squadron 42 game, which is different ~ Cyrus Pellet (talk) 21:40, 2 September 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.6.27.42 (talk) Reply
The title of the section is "unknown status". The purpose is not to judge the likelihood that the games will be released, but rather to list games that have had no public communication in a long time. The term "vaporware" is too subjective to be the criterion for inclusion. Star Citizen still gets periodic public progress updates, and it should be moved back to the "In development" section. Add Divinity: Fallen Heroes. The game was put on hold https://www.polygon.com/2019/10/15/20916207/divinity-fallen-heroes-on-hold-baldurs-gate-3

Add Two Worlds 3. Won't release for another four to five years. https://wccftech.com/two-worlds-iii-still-preproduction/ Lymone54 (talk) 15:56, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Dead Island 2 Vaporware? edit

I understand the game has been in development hell and switched studios several times but it's clearly still being worked on since they just changed the studio in August 2019. I don't think personally it really warrants being in that category. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.113.148.116 (talk) 01:32, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • I think it being on its third developer and missing its intended release date by over four years keeps it vaporware. It should probably remain until we get more info, such as a release date or new trailer. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 17:06, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Quake Champions should be removed from list edit

Quake Champions was released in 2017, but it says it’s in the unknown status. It should be removed from there since it’s was already released a while ago. 2601:1C2:1000:59E0:6189:6949:BB9:6430 (talk) 07:29, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

2023 In Video Games edit

I think we have enough now for a separate article for this, no? We have 3 games with specific release dates for next year (well, 2, and a confirmed December release), and many others with specific quarters of 2023 scheduled for release. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.110.105.226 (talk) 02:14, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please add Earthlock 2 to the January–March section. The Steam store page for the game says it would release in March 2024.[1] 99.209.40.250 (talk) 12:32, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

The following games should be removed: Ray'z Arcade Chronology and RayStorm x RayCrisis HD were both released globally in 2023 (staggered between systems and regions), Humankind was released in August 2023 and Touhou Shoujo: Tale of Beautiful Memories was released on Nintendo Switch in September 2022. Additionally, Touhou Shinsekai: Longing For An Alternative World was released in japan in July 2023 but not yet worldwide, release date so far unannounced, and might be worth adding a note to signify this. --Kermamrek (talk) 09:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
