Principals/Presidents edit

Although the list at the BYU-Idaho website simply lists all the men as "past presidents of BYU-Idaho", the history page that links to each person differentiates between "principals" and "presidents". Keep in mind, stake academies (which BYU-Idaho started out as) were secondary schools, not institutions of higher education. "In the summer of 1917, George S. Romney replaced A.B. Christensen as principal. At this time, the school was granted state certification (which allowed the graduates to teach in the State of Idaho), the Academy became Ricks Normal College, and the principal became its first president." ---BYU-Idaho history page You know, there should be an article on Stake Academies now that I think of it. Several western universities evolved from them, including BYU. --JonRidinger (talk) 05:17, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
