CCC MPs recalled/expelled edit

Hi, Mangwanani 15 (nine constituency MPs, 6 Women seats) CCC Members of the National Assembly and 9 CCC senators were apparently recalled/expelled from Parliament in October 2023 following a letter by Sengenzo Tshabangu, who claims to be the interim CCC Secretary-General and on Saturday, the High Court dismissed their application to be reinstated, so nine by-elections will be held on December 9. How do we proceed with this? I am not sure how I should update the page to reflect this development. ^[1]^[2]Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). I’ve been giving this a lot of thought and I think we should wait until the Court proceedings are completed. Perhaps there could be an Aftermath section on the election page that includes this information in the meantime? Mangwanani ^(talk) 22:46, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ah I see you’ve already made changes. I think the MPs themselves would dispute that they have ceased to be party members (or should that be seized…?). I think it would be better worded as Seat proclaimed vacant by Speaker on xxxx Mangwanani ^(talk) 22:49, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I see that the MPs have successfully registered to stand in the subsequently by-elections.^[3] Somebody has also created an article for the by-elections at 2023 Zimbabwean by-elections, which is in serious need of a rewrite. Best, Lefcentreright Discuss 15:00, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

That by-election page is quite something.......! I don't think the Gutu West constituency should be considered a by-election. It is just a postponement from the September election because of the death of the candidate. I think it should properly be included in the main 2023 election page, and these recalls should be the subject of that new page that has been created. Let's keep things smooth and simple.
