Errors in this report edit

As of Oct. 28, 2013, Christine Sinclair has scored 146 goals in 198 matches. This entire document needs to be proofed / compared to the official list of matches per http://canadasoccer.com/?t=roster&pid=2971. Also, is soccer (unlike hockey), there is no result after a draw (ie - on 12 April 2008, the "CAN 1:1 a.e.t USA / USA wins 6-5 on kicks" result goes into the records books as a draw (neither team got the "W"). Finally, all official soccer results should be listed W-D-L — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.254.254.171 (talk) 21:50, 12 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Matches and goals that should NOT be on the list edit

The following exhibition or "b" international matches are NOT counted as part of Christine Sinclair's international record:

23 July 2007 - Canada v USA U20s at Pan American Games

12 March 2008 - Canada v USA U20s at Cyprus Women's Cup (Sinclair 2 goals)

23 May 2009 - Canada v USA exhibition in Vaughan

21 April 2010 - Canada v China exhibition in Yongchuan

23 October 2010 - Canada v Guatemala in Cancun (Sinclair 2 goals)

26 February 2011 - Canada v Korea Republic in Larnaka (Sinclair 1 goal)

1 March 2015 - Canada v Australia in Cyprus (Sinclair 1 goal)

Matches against club teams also do not count towards Christine Sinclair's records.

10 November 2009 - Canada v University of Miami (Sinclair 1 goal)

13 November 2009 - Canada v Florida International (Sinclair 2 goals)

23 May 2010 - Canada v Washington Freedom (Sinclair 1 goal)

24 May 2012 - Canada v Vancouver Whitecaps (Sinclair 1 goal)

  • None of those were included in the list except for July 23, 2007 match which CanadaSoccer list on its website canadasoccer.com as a match played by Canada Women's team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.135.166.255 (talk) 04:52, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
It is not in doubt that it was Canada's senior team. It's because they played a youth team, that it's not a cap. Lauren Cheney who scored for the USA is also not credited with a senior cap or goal despite it being a senior competition. It's all due to senior team vs. youth team. --Nonc01 (talk) 17:06, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Appearance adjustment Dec/2013 edit

When I noticed Sinclair's International goal table at odds with Soccer Canada by the amount of one (1) appearance, I sided with Soccer Canada for a few edits. But now the table is in excellent shape (well done editors) and each game incredibly sourced with Soccer Canada's own game sheets, so I came to expect a bookkeeping error by Soccer Canada, however...

I finally had a chance to go through the footnotes, and near the end of my referencing there was appearance #99 on 23 July 2007 against a USA development team. This shouldn't be counted as a senior cap and I believe this is our lone object of disparity. CSA did not release a team sheet for this game either. --Nonc01 (talk) 13:58, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • On July 23, 2007 Sinclair played the USA under-20 team in the semi-final of the Pan-Am games. If this match is excluded from her cap; then the goal scored by Kara Lang should also be excluded. Therefore, Kara Lang has 92 caps by the same standard as applied to Sinclair and without the goal scored in the same match, Lang scored 34 goals and not 35 goals as listed on CanadaSoccer.com - Harvardton (talk) 01:29, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I don't follow, I think maybe you're getting mixed up. Remember, my edit reflects CSA not counting this as a cap, so why would they have attributed one to Lang for the same game? --Nonc01 (talk) 16:58, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please see Talk: Kara Lang. There is nothing to it, Kara Lang either have 93 caps and 35 goals, or 92 caps and 34 goals. This discrepancy arise from counting the goal scored on July 23, 2007 and not counting the match as a cap. On the match report |2007-07-23, no Canada player appear in the team sheet, but Kara Lang appears on the score-sheet; hence the difference. Harvardton (talk) 19:38, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Featured list prep edit

Walter Görlitz – I am working with The Rambling Man on prepping this article as a featured list using the format of other featured lists such as List of international goals scored by Landon Donovan, List of international goals scored by Abby Wambach, List of international goals scored by Lionel Messi (current canditate) and others. Are you interested in helping clean up the table of international goals to reflect the format of the others? Hmlarson (talk) 04:39, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Rambling Man – PS. I made some headway tonight on starting to expand the lead and cleaning up Statistics section to match others. I see core remaining tasks as cleaning up the main table (per inquiry to Walter Görlitz), checking references, checking alt tags, links and finishing up the lead. Her Canada bio has all of the caps, goals conveniently listed. Hmlarson (talk) 04:47, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Hmlarson (talk) 06:13, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
If there's some easy reformatting, I might be able to use my editing skills there, but it seems fairly well under control. Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:17, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
