Hogsmeade - Should be removed?

Hogsmeade isn't really a city, it's more of a village or maybe a small town. But more importantly, it's not independent! In the Harry Potter world, the magical folk usually live along side us non magical people ("muggles") in the same cities and towns that we do. They use their magic to hide their presence from us, but really they could be right next door. The magical folk also (at least in Britain) have a separate government, the Ministry of Magic, who's laws govern all the magic users in the land, regardless of weither they are in a "muggle" part of London or in the halls of the great magical school Hogwarts.

Hogsmeade is special because it's the only settlement in the UK that is strictly for magic users. Rather then using magic to hide themselves within a "muggle" city or town, they simple hide the whole town itself, and only magical folk know that it exists. However, it is still governed by the laws of the Ministry of Magic, and therefore can't really be considered an independent city state. Removing reference

In the New New York line, it mentions Futurama. While there is a city called that iin the show and most of the series is based in that location, it isn't an independent nation but part of a single country spanning the entire planet. I'll keep the other names mentioned because I know nothing about them, but the Futurama reference is going.

I removed Gondor; Gondor is a feudal kingdom, as Denethor could call upon the nobles of Dol Amroth, Lebennin, etc. The Steward doesn't seem to have much authority outside his capital at Minas Tirith, but that is not uncommon in a failing territorial state. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.130.97.155 (talk) 01:49, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Bye Bye Many D.C citys

Accocrding to what I know Gotham is a part of the U.S.A. I am therefore deleting Gotham from the list, anyone who disagrees can put it back on the list, then write to me, at my talk page, about why Gotham is a city-state. Series premiere (remake) (talk) 04:20, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Need more fictional city-states

We need more fictional city-states, and please remember the definition of city-state before adding stuff. I've so far added Superbia and have removed Gotham, Metropolis, Central City, Retroville and another city I forgot the name of. Gotham, Metropolis and Central City are not city-states. Try reading the article on City-States for an actual definition before adding every fictional city you can think of. I am adding the Free City of Greyhawk, though. Nutiketaiel (talk) 19:20, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Remove Hogsmeade

LOTR
