The grammar in this article gives the indication that it was written by a second-grader. 68.45.106.216 18:08, 28 October 2007 (UTC) Their is at least one spotted flaw. The 1979 World Series is given to the wrong team. The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 7 games...not the other way around. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Melomelo (talkcontribs) 22:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Years each team first played professionally

edit

It would be interesting to have the years each team first played professional baseball, to compare how many series they've won with how long they've been in existence. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr 14:32, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

21st century?

edit

Correction: The NY Yankees have not won a World Series in this century. The 21st century started on January 1, 2001. Their last WS win was in 2000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.150.10.200 (talk) 19:05, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Chicago Cubs' 101-year losing streak is an entire century, currently are the only team other than the Seattle Mariners to spent the most years without winning a league pennant. The Mariners won 120 games in the 2001 season, but failed to catch a world series appearance compared to the 4-year old Arizona Diamondbacks clinched the NL pennant to defeat the Yankees in the world series. The AL's Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox awaited 85-86 years to win a world series title each in the mid 2000's, while the San Francisco Giants never won one in their time in San Francisco and the Cleveland Indians hadn't won it in 60 years since 1948. Let's mention the Toronto Blue Jays is the third team in world series history to win back-to-back world series titles (1992/93), behind the "3-peat A's": Oakland Athletics three-in-a-row championship titles of 1972-74, a third of their 9 titles mostly received when the team was in Philadelphia. + 71.102.3.86 (talk) 04:22, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
