Orphaned references in List of The Asylum films
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of The Asylum films's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "GQ":
- From The Asylum: Katz, David. "From Asylum, the People Who Brought You (a Movie Kinda Sorta Like) Pacific Rim". GQ. Retrieved 2013-07-25.
- From Atlantic Rim (film): Katz, David. "From Asylum, the People Who Brought You (a Movie Kinda Sorta Like) Pacific Rim". GQ. Retrieved 2013-07-25.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 10:20, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
The mockbuster section would need an update
editSure, the titles (and the poster, and the marketing) rides on certain movies, but the actual content of the movies usualy rip off entirely different products. Eg. King of the Lost World mockbusts the series Lost, or 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea is based on The Abyss. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.63.24.27 18:20, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- I've also noticed some movies that are considered a ripoff but actually look original including those that are based on a story that's already public domain. Examples are Dead 7, The Little Mermaid 2023 animated film, and Snow White and the Seven Samurai, since the elements of those films look much more original. Just because those films are made by the Asylum doesn't mean they're immediately a ripoff. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anonymy365248 (talk • contribs) 14:53, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
Does not belong
edit- According to imdb Barrio Brawler (aka. American Brawler) was only distributed, and not produced by The Asylum.
- Christmas in Vienna is NOT an Asylum film at all according to imdb.
- Beaus of Holly is a Hallmark movie, nothing to do with The Asylum. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.63.24.187 (talk) 20:20, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- For Insect Asylum took part of the production, or just participate in the distribution? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.63.24.187 (talk) 23:47, 17 February 2022 (UTC) UPDATE: this is a 2018 film, and the Asylum is simply a distributor of it, and not a production company. Imdb page. Other, confirming source.
