An explanation of my edit

It's not a retelling. A retelling, according to Merriam-Webster's definition, is a new version of a story. Wouldn't that mean it'd in some way replace the old version? So, what story is it replacing? Not volume 1. Not volume 2. Or the two Aincrad stories in volume 8. Or the one story in volume 22. Or any other Aincrad story not in the numbered volumes. Also, there is no Aincrad arc in the novels excluding Progressive. Each story is its own despite being connected in the fact they all take place in Aincrad during the same timeframe of two years. "Memorable Song" & "Curable Pain"

These two side stories were released with the SAO movie Blu-Rays in Japan. Presumably, they are only canon in the movie canon, as they feature the movie-exclusive character Tozawa Misumi ("Mito") who doesn't exist in the regular novel canon. Kidburla (talk) 15:11, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
