Ayn Rand

edit

Why is Ayn Rand not listed here? Surely she belongs in the list, being born and educated in Russia, and some of her works being set in Russia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Overskore (talkcontribs) 18:11, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. She should be on the list, even though she ultimately identified as and chose to be an American. Even though her ideas are Western in essence, it is both remarkable and interesting that she was born in Russia, grew up there, and was educated in Russian schools and academia. Granted, her family was cosmopolitan and in her childhood she was probably more exposed to e.g. French literature than most other Russian people, but still. cun 11:45, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Tolstoy

edit

Is it permissible to list Tolstoy under one of the Christian categories as well? Dirtbike spaceman (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 05:49, 31 December 2008 (UTC). I do not think it would be appropriate to list Leo Tolstoy under Christian writers as he was actually excommunicated from the Church.Alexeykh (talk) 07:58, 4 November 2009 (UTC) Listing Ivan Turgenev as being the father of Russian nihilism is inaccurate as "Fathers and Sons" is a criticism of nihilism; hello!Alexeykh (talk) 08:03, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
