list edit

This article is ridiculous, redundant, and out of control. Can we decide on what it is suppose to be first? Comprehensive? roguegeek (talk·cont) 05:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Revision of this list into a single sortable table edit

I've begun transcribing this list into a single table that you can sort at Talk:List of Honda motorcycles/Workpage. The idea is to have only one line per model, and letting the reader sort by letter code, Street vs Road Race vs Track, 2 or 4 stroke, etc etc, in place of the current table that lists each model two or three or four times as a kind of flattened out pivot table.

Please comment or boldly jump in and help if you want to influence the direction before it goes too far. A table this size is a pain to change once it's full.

At the moment I only have the year a model was introduced but not the final year of production -- mostly to keep it simple and verifiable. I think the bike's own article, if any, can go into that kind of depth, and it all varies by country and region anyway. The purpose of this list is to give access to a big picture view of what Honda did over the years. Disagree?

I'm wondering if instead of only Wikilinking the first use of terms like Motorized bicycle, Moped, Flat twin, etc, it should perhaps have every single one Wikilinked. While that looks overdone and excessive, it does make it more convenient for readers who have used the sorting to rearrange the rows to some order other than year. It would be cool if it magically only Wikilkined the first use of the word, alas.

There are some lines tagged as needing verification, but in the final draft I don't wish to keep anything that lacks a verified citation. I don't see how it is of any use to the reader to see the names of models that somebody once added without proof that it's real. If we can't find anything good enough to cite, then as far as I'm concerned that model is either a hoax, a Honda knockoff, or is a real Honda so obscure as to fail notability.

As I go along I'll probably uncover more issues. Let me know if you think I should add or remove a column before it gets too much bigger. --Dbratland (talk) 04:51, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

It might be more helpful if the list/table also listed models by the year. Kyuss-Apollo (talk) 00:35, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

ATVs edit

Should this list have a section for Honda's three-wheeled and four-wheeled ATVs? 198.7.249.59 (talk) 16:05, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

No. ATVs are not motorcycles. --Biker Biker (talk) 17:20, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid and electric motorcycles / scooters edit

Now that Honda is producing a hybrid and an electric model of the PCX scooter, this list ought to be updated. How will a list of motors by displacement account for hybrid or fully-electric drive systems? I propose adding separate columns for maximum power output and fuel / energy consumption. Africa Twin edit

I have noticed some problems with the Africa twins on this list, the 2018 Africa twin is completely missing from this list, the Africa twin (RD03) does not have a page linked to it, and the layout makes it hard to sort by model or type of bike, is there a way that we can fix this page and reformat it? --Munchy38 (talk) 00:28, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
