Casting From the Earth to the Moon edit

The following thread is copied from the series talk page: JustinTime55 (talk) 19:51, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here's a link to a "facsimile" of the content of the Casting From the Earth to the Moon article: WorldLingo: Casting From the Earth to the Moon.
I'm including a text version of this article below because I don't have time to add and edit this info to the article now, and I think it would be a shame if the info were lost in the meantime. Mingjai (talk) 21:09, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have recreated this list, starting mainly from scratch. There were some errors (e.g. incorrect links requiring disambiguation), and content and form not quite appropriate (such as giving undue prominence to Jim Lovell, who is not the star of this work, despite Hanks' connection to Apollo 13. @JustinTime55: Hey there. I was thinking of nominating this for deletion, since it looks like Wikipedia:Listcruft and seems very IMDB-ey to me. I saw it looked like you put a lot of work into it though, and I do not have strong feelings, so if you feel it meets the inclusion criteria I do not think I will bother. Has your opinion on the article changed? Kees08 (Talk) 19:08, 2 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, my opinion has not changed at all. You appreciate the difference between an essay and a policy or guideline, right? Essays are just someone's opinion, and don't carry the same weight. Actually, I happen to agree with the essay, which says lists shouldn't be indiscriminate or trivial, and implies a "list of X" stand-alone list article should ... be created if X itself is a legitimate encyclopedic topic that already has its own article ... should originate as a section within that article, and should ... be broken out into a separate article [when] it becomes so long as to be disproportionate to the rest of the article. There is no way this list can be considered "indiscriminate or trivial" (or any of the twelve criteria given in the "Meaning" section). It was broken out in summary style to prevent the parent article from being too long. JustinTime55 (talk) 17:03, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
