Do Not Delete Yet edit

I am sorry for the trouble. I am working on fixing the summery thing-y problem. SOme of the books I have not read so I am going by the back cover summery. Those books would be (just for a helper) Voodoo Moon, Haunted by Desire, The Gypsy Enchantment, Soul of the Bride, Spirit of the Wolf, Date with Death, Something Wiccan This Way Comes, Mist and Stone, and Mirror Image. I have read some that are not on the list yet. Give me time and I am so sorry for the problem. I am working on fixing it. --Meraculas 23:31, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Strangely, I agree with you. The books do require coverage, and I believe this belongs at AfD, not CfD, as I personally think any copyvio can be ammended. I'm all for deleting crap, but this can be improved. See: Buffy novels. ~ZytheTalk to me! 00:26, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not completely sure what you mean by your comment, but I have fixed up (to the best of my suck a** abilities) the summery thing-y. If it needs more work feel free to give it that work. My hands are so cramped it kills. Again I am sorry for the problem. --Meraculas 00:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Additionally, dependent upon the outcome of this deletion process, let's place the book blurb on Charmed multimedia rather than on the main page. I'll write up something when that time comes and place it in the article. -- Huntster T@C 01:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I currently own Something wiccan this way comes, legacy of merlin, the power of 3, pied piper, inherit the witch, beware what you wish, between worlds, the queens curse, and survival of the fittest. I've read 90% of them and I'd be more than happy to write a summary on any of them if you need them. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you need pictures for any of them I cant easily take one, which i believe would make then free rather than fair-use. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:20, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
This is correct. Scanning something is akin to taking a digital picture of it, which removes the copyright status of the image (as opposed to a promotional image, which is itself copyrighted). If you need any assistance in cleaning up an image after the scan, let me know. -- Huntster T@C 02:29, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I could really use some help with the pictures. You can fix the summeries for the books I haven't read. The books I have: The Power of Three, The Kiss of Darkness, The Crimson Spell, Whispers from the Past, The Legacy of Merlin, Beware What You Wish, Charmed Again, Garden of Evil, Dark Vengence, Shadow of the Sphinx, Between Worlds, Truth and Consequences, Luck be a Lady, Inherit the Witch, The Tale of Two Pipers, Mystic Knoll, Changeling Places, The Queen's Curse, Picture Perfect, and Demon Doppelgangers. Though I have just started The Queen's Curse and have not read Changeling Places, Picture Perfect, and Demon Doppelgangers yet. I also do not own a single of the books which will put under other (ie: The Warren Witches, The Book of Three, and Seasons of the Witch.) --Meraculas 03:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
If the guides are being included here, I would suggest this article be renamed "List of Charmed books", because guides and companions aren't properly categorized as novels. Also, check out these lists if you need any assistance with specific book information. Books 1-25, Books 26-41 -- Huntster T@C 06:05, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am including the guide and companion books, but I don't know how to change the page name, if someone else could do that for me... --Meraculas 15:18, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done. -- Huntster T@C 19:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

No more Charmed Books edit

I've heard a rumour from thecharmedones.com that the people who publish the Charmed Books have decided to finish the series of novels! Please, tell me I am wrong! Bubble bunny

Well, this isn't really the place for casual discussion, but either way, I've heard nothing good about them, so doesn't matter to me. :/ -- Huntster T • @ • C 13:10, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
YEAH, THAT HELPED! Thanks???? Bubble bunny
  • I highly doubt that any additional novels/short stories will come out, and it seems that the comics are over and done with as well (there is no official announcement, but the treatment of the tenth season was somewhat odd). It is an older show now after all, and none of the material has been particularly commercially successful so it seems like things will just move on. Aoba47 (talk) 04:37, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

New Book edit

New book, 'Trickery Treat' has been announced. http://www.simonsays.com/content/book.cfm?tab=1&pid=585573 Bubble bunny

Season the Books take place during edit

I just thought that it might be nice for people to know which book takes place during which season. I remember when I stated reading Mystic Knoll and thinking, "what the hell is going on here?" because I hadn't seen very many of the episodes with Paige at the time and I hadn't known that Piper had ever been pregnant. I go into the show a little late and had been watching it from the first season. Does the idea sound good? --Meraculas (talk) 23:15, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

If the correct season can be absolutely identified, I don't see any reason to not include it. However, if there is any doubt, just leave it alone. Huntster (t@c) 23:40, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am pretty sure I have an idea of each season for a large number of the books I have read. I might need to reread some (not that I am complaining) and if I still have a little trouble I can leave the spot empty for someone else to determine. I'll start a little later as I am in the middle of working. --Meraculas (talk) 11:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think it would be a good piece of information to add to the article; at least it will help in tying the novels into the series, despite not following the same strict canon. Any additional information needed to establish the season will probably be found at "The Demons Jumble" [1] which, as I recall, has some detailed analysis of each novel. Olympic (talk) 11:10, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
It isn't that hard to determine the seasons, you just need to read the books and make note of things going on that might help. The thing I find hard, though, is that season 6 doesn't exist like it had in the show. (I am reading Demona Doppelganger so I will use that as an example). It mentions Wyatt being a baby, and it sounds like the sisters have been turned in Greek goddessess by the way they are talking, but there is not adult Chris from the future, no baby Chris either. Does that make any sense? That is the only think that might be hard for me (that and not owning all the books), but I can do what I can. --Meraculas (talk) 14:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Book's Corresponding Seasons edit

I have added the seasons (that I greatly believe) correspond with each book. I do not own all the books, and have guessed the seasons for a number of the ones a placed as season 4. If you are wondering how I got some of the seasons or wish to correct or add a season, feel free to. The books I own are: The Power of Three, Kiss of Darkness, Crimson Spell, Whispers of the Past, The Legacy of Merlin, Beware What You Wish, Charmed Again, Garden of Evil, Dark Vengance, Shadow of the Sphinx, Between Worlds, Truth and Consequences, Luck be a Lady, Inherit the Witch, The Tale of Two Pipers, Mystic Knoll, Changeling Places, The Queen's Curse, Picture Perfect, and Demon Doppelgangers, Leo Rising, and Trickery Treat. All the season given as season 4 between Charmed Again to Garden of Evil to Dark Vengance to Truth and Consequences are given that season as the books most likely did not change seasons between there.--Meraculas (talk) 15:53, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Leo Rising has to have been during season 7, because Leo states that Piper had used to spell that brought adult Wyatt to the present time a few days before, and they all encounter Zankou in the book, and Zankou had been vanquised at the end of season 7. --Meraculas (talk) 18:52, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Canon edit

Am I right in saying that the sentence claiming that "Trickery Treat" is part of the canon is in fact wrong? I've never explcity heard that it was, plus why would one of the novels be any different from the rest? Furthermore, I was wondering if anyone knew of any source which actually confirms that the Charmed novels are NOT part of the series' canon? Or are we just assuming...? kiss of darkness edit

the correct author of this charmed novel is brandon alexander. not belinda. she is author of another unrelated book of the same title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.114.141.230 (talk) 18:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reliability of sources edit

I'm a bit surprised to see how much of this Featured List is being sourced to the bookseller sites of Amazon and Barnes/Noble. I was also surprised to see that the first eleven novels all were reported as having the same length. So I checked the second item on the list (Kiss of Darkness) at its listing at the Library of Congress and at its listing at WorldCat. Neither of those two sources corroborates the number of pages being reported here. They also give a slightly different surname for the author. And they give a different publisher (and even the Barnes and Noble site doesn't corroborate the name of the publisher given here).

I chose this entry at random from the first eleven. But if there are so many discrepancies found in the one item that I checked, I have to wonder how much of the rest of the list is accurate. NewYorkActuary (talk) 13:34, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • @NewYorkActuary: I have addressed this; thank you for bringing this up. Let me know what you think. Aoba47 (talk) 14:54, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Aoba47: My apologies for the delay in response. Thanks for addressing this matter so quickly. I do have one suggestion -- if you're willing to expand the width of the reference column, you can remove a lot of the footnotes by using the {{LCCN}} and {{OCLC}} templates (in the reference column). Just a suggestion. NewYorkActuary (talk) 17:39, 11 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you for the response. I will make the changes sometime in the future. Thank you for drawing my attention to the templates. Aoba47 (talk) 18:21, 11 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
