I remember a linguists' club in or near Camden Hill road. About 1960. does anybody have informations?
Or was that Niddry lodge?--Hans Eo (talk) 19:37, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes that was Teddy Pilley's Linguists' Club. Niddry Lodge was a grand old building; the entrance was actually on Holland Street, but the grounds were bounded on the west-side by Campden Hill Road. Have a look at the old map in this write-up. The smaller building, on the east-side of Niddry Lodge, was the 'mews' for the main house, including old stables and garages, and servants' quarters. Niddry Lodge was demolished in 1972.
