The result of the move request was: no consensus R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:36, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

- I have hopefully corrected this move request to what the user wanted (in futute please follow the instructions at WP:RM). It should be noted that although Libre currently redirects here this was a recent change by the user asking for this move and that for over four years preceding this change it redirected to Gratis versus Libre. - You are right, it was incorrect. No you didn't correct this properly. I have done it below. Widefox (talk) 21:33, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Libre → Libre (disambiguation) —
- Libre (disambiguation) → Libre — as per WP:MOSDAB - naming of DAB pages with no primary article - swap articles. Widefox (talk) 21:33, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support. I also relisted this at Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation/Malplaced disambiguation pages. For future reference, changes of this type in the names of disambiguation pages, are usually handled there quicker. Fortdj33 (talk) 17:31, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. Not malplaced until this move request. Works perfectly well with a primary topic, and there's no indication that the primary topic should be changed. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:08, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose The current redirect target is a perfectly acceptable primary article, covering the word upon which all the other uses are based. --Cybercobra (talk) 04:29, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- To clarify, I do not consider there to be a primary article for these reasons: 1. It is a dictionary definition (compare with Free, Freedom) 2. It is already better covered by the wiktionary link 3. Gratis versus Libre is weak (OR / syn) - Libre may arguably be a neologism - a new promotional term for the free software movement 4. duplicate/already covered by Libre software . Made simple, where is the definition of "Libre refers to the distinction between zero price and with few or no restrictions." coming from? Widefox (talk) 08:44, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Since this is English Wikipedia, we give English primacy. As an English word, "libre"'s usage is mainly as the aforementioned neologism. In other languages, said dichotomy is indeed not explicitly part of the definition. --Cybercobra (talk) 09:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Libre refers to ...
editI suggest changing the first line:
- Libre refers to the distinction between zero price and with few or no restrictions.
to something like:
- "Libre is a loan word in English borrowed from various Romance languages, including Spanish and French. As in these languages, "libre" in English denotes "the state of being free", as in "having freedom" or "liberty". Its primary usage in English is to express "free as in freedom" to avoid confusion with the other meaning of the word "free" in English, "free as in free of charge" (see gratis vs libre).
or
- Gratis vs libre refers to the distinction between two meanings of the word "free" in English: zero price and with few or no restrictions.
Reason: "libre" does not "refer to the distinction", it is one of them. Libre is also used to distinguish libre and non-libre software, knowledge resources, cultural works and learning resources (etc.) in terms of freedom (independently of price). - K (talk) 22:06, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
