One issue I am confused on is the New Advent reference. It says: He is probably identical with Lambert, the Canon of St. Omer who wrote the famous "Liber floridus", a kind of encyclopedia of Biblical, chronological, astronomical, geographical, theological, philosophical and natural history subjects, a detailed description of which is given in the "Historia comitum Normannorum, comitum Flandriae". Are they one and the same? This seems to be backed-up in The Medieval Bestiary source. --Doug Coldwelltalk 15:07, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
The Catholic Encyclopedia, as usual, is just out of date; Medieval Bestiary took their info from it. They're not the same person; Derolez explains it in his edition, and I think someone before him proved it as well. Adam Bishop (talk) 15:40, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Wetman, Lambert of St. Bertin and Lambert of St. Omer are not the same - St. Bertin was a monastery, which may be in St. Omer today, but at the time was outside the city. Lambert of St. Omer was a canon of the church in St. Omer itself. Adam Bishop (talk) 18:07, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
