Page name & "glacial" edit

Malik Shabazz moved the page from "Glacial Lake McConnell" to "Lake McConnell" with the edit summary: List of prehistoric lakes used "Glacial Lake" throughout, but I didn't notice that they were redirected to "Lake". I have no problem with this since there is no other Lake McConnell with a page on Wikipedia right now, but I thought I'd point to the discussion of general moving of "Glacial Lake XXX" to "Lake XXX" that took place a while ago, in case anyone missed it: Talk:Glacial Lake Duluth#Requested move. In summary it was proposed that all pages named "Glacial Lake XXX" be moved to "Lake XXX" unless the result was ambiguous—as in there was a non-glacial lake of the same name. For this reason most "Glacial Lake" pages were moved but some were not, such as Glacial Lake Iroquois, Glacial Lake Wisconsin, and Glacial Lake Columbia. There is no other Lake McConnell page, so dropping the "Glacial" from the page name is fine with me. But I thought I'd mention that there could be pages made someday for present-day Lake McConnells, in which case this page might need to restore the "Glacial" in its page name. The McConnell Lake page mentions one in Texas and a number of McConnell Lakes (one in California isn't mentioned). Just a friendly FYI. Pfly (talk) 04:39, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
