Name misspelled

edit

Very odd - the title of this article has the name of the city misspelled. Don't they know the difference betweeen "LaFayette" and "La Fayette"? There really is one - and so many people pay so little attention to correct blanks, hyphens, etc., in proper names. 74.249.90.250 (talk) 14:30, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You appear to be correct. The city's official website uses 'LaFayette'. I've moved the article to the correct title. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:16, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Official town web sites do not always use the official name. Most other Lafayettes in the US are spelled withouf the capital F. Is there an official site similar to INSEE in France, where we could get information? Are there rules about using capitals inside a place name? It seems much more unusual than in persons'names. --Patch051 (talk) 17:08, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
