Spelling edit

Shouldn't the article name be spelled with an okina? I was going to move it but that name is blacklisted, and I don't know why. Kendall-K1 (talk) 20:26, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

KAVEBEAR if you get time, can you comment here? I don't understand blacklisted titles. — Maile (talk) 20:58, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just did a page move. Does it look like it should? — Maile (talk) 23:36, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes. How did you do that? Admin superpowers? Did you find out why it was blacklisted? Kendall-K1 (talk) 23:40, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I tried to do a move with the actual {okina} template in the word, and it repeatedly blocked me with a few paragraphs of mumbo-jumbo that I didn't understand. "Blacklisted" never came up. So, I just did a copy and paste on the actual okina from the title bar of another Hawaiian article, and it worked that way. FYI, I did start a thread at VP policy (here), but I'm getting the feeling that nobody really knows the answer. — Maile (talk) 23:50, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I think the blacklist just lumps the okina with other problematic characters and punctuations which prevents non-admin users from moving the articles. It is perfectly fine to create an article with an okina in it but not to move one to it. See MediaWiki talk:Titleblacklist/Archive 3; there are three sections with the topic. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 03:23, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Considering how surprising this is (mixed latin and non-latin titles are on the move blacklist but not the create blacklist) it sure would be helpful if there could be an explanation somewhere other than in an obscure talk page archive, linked from the error message. And the error message should be fixed; it says "Laʻaloa Bay" is on the blacklist, but that's not true. Kendall-K1 (talk) 12:10, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tone edit

The paragraphs about the parking lot have no citations and has a tone less like an encyclopedia and more like interest-group literature. I cleaned up all the run-on sentences and so forth, but it probably needs more fixing. 24.244.23.89 (talk) 07:44, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
