according to Tom Mboyas book "Freedom and After) (1963, p. 55), "Kwacha" was the slogan of the nationalist Movement in Northern Rhodesi and Nyasaland in the early 1960s, meaning "the dawn" (in which language, I don't know). kwacha means dawn in chichanya, the Language widely spoken in Malawi, Zambia And some parts of Mozambique and Zimbamwe.
