Pronunciation edit

I've removed a pronunciation audio file for "Kedleston" (the village) from here. It uses a "Ked-less-ton" pronunciation that may well be correct for the village, and used locally for the house, but it is not normal (eg used by the BBC) for this nationally known house, normally "Keddle-stn". Such discrepancies are not unusual, and there is no reason the two should be aligned in every case. See also Talk:Kedleston and User_talk:Eric_Corbett#Kedleston_Hall today. It doesn't actually cover "Kedleston Hall" anyway - no doubt "hall" also sounds different to the BBC's pronunciation locally. I've no issue with using it at the village article. The pronunciation kedd less stun as given was, and is correct, and has been for at least seventy years and I am not a native of the village. I have never heard it pronounced keddle stone until recently. THe BBC guide is not always right and most BBC announcers also pronounce it the traditional way, as did a lady from the vilage at a meeting last evening Chevin (talk) 16:22, 13 February 2015 (UTC).Reply
It would appear that the BBC (as from 2006) has no particular preference for the pronunciation ref: Lena Olausson (Author), Catherine Sangster (2006) Oxford BBC Guide to Pronunciation, The Essential Handbook of the Spoken Word (Superseding the BBC Pronouncing Dictionary of British Names) OUP Oxford; 3rd edition Chevin (talk) 17:01, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
