My surname is Kass and I’m from the Hudson valley New York area, and our family name comes from western Germany (Mannheim region), and was a Lutheran/Protestant family as far back as there are existing records. (The original spelling was Käß, with Kass the Americanized version.) I’m not sure this article is entirely accurate about the Czech/eastern European origins, but as my name is Kass and I am a hobbyist Genealogist, actually editing the article would be “original research”. --Sam (talk) 13:36, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
