Kazantip GmbH edit

The tour operator Kazantip GmbH has nothing to do with the festival in Crimea, so I removed the link. Xapmc (talk) 14:38, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources? edit

What is meant by "the article needs reliable sources"?

Is the official Kazantip Republic website not reliable enough?

The website belongs to the founders and owners of Kazantip Republic.

Update: if there will be no answer, I will remove the "reliable-sources-missing"-bar next week

-- Xapmc (talk) 08:46, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

all articles in wikipedia need reliable sources. Ie third party sources, please look at various good articles to get an idea. LibStar (talk) 05:37, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
This is already the second time you answer the original question with some common sentence where you say nothing about the article itself. As I already suggested last time on your talk page where I had to go because you didn't give your attention to my question here, you are really not aware of the subject. Namely, any third-party sources in the case of Kazantip can only mess up the information and make it complicable because all of them are commercial websites or some poorly written fan-pages. You probably do not know much about Kazantip but still want to edit the article. Please give your attention to articles where your knowledge is higher. I will wait next couple days for an argumentation, maybe somebody else will answer to my original question. If not, I will remove the mark. If you will try to put it back without some well-founded explanation, I will immediately send a complain about your actions. I am planning to expand the article further and put some more useful information here, and I don't want to work on the article together with somebody who is acting that perfunctory. Thank you for the attention. -- Xapmc (talk) 09:29, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
please tone down your aggression. Articles in WP should not solely rely on primary sources which this does. See WP:PSTS. secondly you dont own this article so cannot tell people to go away and edit other articles. See WP:OWN. LibStar (talk) 13:01, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
No problem, as you know I started our discussion very courteously. But still, where is your exact argumentation? It's your third answer but you didn't say a word about the subject. -- Xapmc (talk) 13:24, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
the Kazantip website is a primary source as per WP:PSTS. reliable sources include major newspapers, tv stations etc. have you read WP:RS. LibStar (talk) 13:27, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The problem with Kazantip is that there are no publications in the major newspapers, especially in English. There are some documentaries about Kazantip such as Kazantip MTV Special. But most of the publications I saw in Europe are only focused on fast free sex, as well as on cheap drugs and alcohol. It looks like public media are commercially interested only in such materials, but is it then truly informative? -- Xapmc (talk) 13:38, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
More to the point, is the subject notable? The general notability guideline is that a subject should be covered in multiple independent reliable sources to have an article. If secondary sources haven't given it significant coverage, then it calls into question whether the festival is a notable event and whether it should have an article. —C.Fred (talk) 13:46, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
I got the point. The subject is notable. I will look for further sources and post them here on the talk page so we can decide together if they are OK. -- Xapmc (talk) 14:03, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
1. What about this book? Johnstone, Sarah; Bloom, Greg (2008). Ukraine. Country Guide Series. Lonely Planet. pp. 19, 191. ISBN 978-1741044812. -- Xapmc (talk) 08:16, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
2. This Euronews reportage is also up-to-date and relatively neutral: http://www.euronews.net/2011/08/22/kazantip-the-party-land , what do you think - is it a "reliable source"? -- Xapmc (talk) 11:24, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
3. There are also official chronicles/promos of Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren etc. I could add them as well. -- Xapmc (talk) 08:39, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kazantip in Georgia? edit

Is this news confirmed that Kazantip is to be held in Georgia? Jaqeli (talk) 21:01, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is completely wrong. Someone read one article and forgot to read another one published on the same day. I will correct that now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xapmc (talkcontribs) 19:38, 13 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
As it often happens these days, a running gag became true reality. Now it will really be held in Anaklia. --Xapmc (talk) 19:23, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Good. Thanks for clarifying. Jaqeli (talk) 22:43, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
There is something very wrong.
Someone created a website www.kazantip-republic.com and put it in the infobox as official website, instead of www.kazantip.com.
Another source confirming it will still happens in Crimea: http://rupaper.com/post/26034
See also the http://kazantip.com/questions-and-answers.html section in the QA.
A good hypothesis could be someone is starting a spinof of the festival there.
I suggest to focus on the official Crimea one for now, instead we have reliable sources to speak about the Georgia side if this really happens.
--Dereckson (talk) 18:26, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Dereckson: It is all confirmed. It is held in Anaklia, Georgia.

Jaqeli (talk) 18:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Could you explain the situation about www.kazantip.com so? --Dereckson (talk) 18:57, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Dereckson: I believe that's an older website which was not updated. All the official channels confirm that Georgia hosts Kazantip this year. Jaqeli (talk) 19:04, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi guys,

the only official website of this project is

http://kazantip-republic.com

with its mirror site http://kazantipa.net

kazantip.com, kazantip.fr, kazantip.de, kazantip.it, kazantip.ru etc are Kazantip GmbH, former a tourist agency and now only a fan community, read here at their website: http://kazantip.com/imprint.html where it says "kazantip.com is a member community and does not sell any tickets — shown pictures do not reflect what can be expected at place."

The website is therefore mostly outdated or even showing something else than Kazantip Republic like naked girls etc. Still, there are our real fans among these people, so it is what it is and must have its place there.

  • edit: yesterday they added a phrase there, saying that there will be some "tickets" to some "event" that will be held fro 31.07 to 14.08 - as mentioned above, kazantip.com always features outdated or wrong information, and the owner of that website is a small tour agency, so anything they write there will pursue their commercial goals, which are unknown to the real organizers of the original event "Kazantip Republic".

Now, to the question about Georgia, the answer is YES:

- the core team that was organizing the event the whole 20 years, is now preparing the event in Georgia.

- there is no word that something will happen in Crimea: even if some event will be held there, it will have nothing to do with the original project "Kazantip Republic".

Feel free to ask anything else

@Xapmc: Will the festival be in Georgia regularly every year from now on or it is just this year? Jaqeli (talk) 16:39, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Jaqeli: I believe it only will be decided after this season, but it is easy to see that Georgia offers much more than Crimea, for now.
