KK?

Where're the references to the "K.K." story? It seems so very strange, since Kenneth is a very popular name in Denmark, enjoying the same popularity in the country as, say, "Mike" in any english speaking country. Just asking. 82.181.201.82 (talk) 06:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Tapping

I think it's worth mentioning the time when he and Glenn started using tapping in their playing. They may not have been the very first to use it, the most famous ones to use it, or guitarists who made some of the most famous uses of it, but they still made very notable use of it over the years, and their beginning to use it marked a turning point in the development of their playing. It was one of the first shredding techniques that they ever incorporated into their playing.

--Rock Soldier 23:36, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

But, the problem is, there were dozens of guitarists using it prior to them. So them using it is sort of an afterthought in the styles development. That they made "notable use of it" is crufty POV... "marked a turning point" and their "first shredding techniques" is just unreferenced original research. So far, its addition into the article hasn't been written in a very encyclopedic tone and ends up looking like buried trivia. 156.34.227.140 00:44, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps it would be more useful to put the whole thing in a different context. See, the term "shredding" is more-or-less exclusively a heavy metal idiom. Metal heads seldom venture outside the realm of their chosen music style and are mostly blissfully ignorant of the fact that "shredding", including (but not limited to) tapping, sweeping (or sweep picking), string skipping, pull-ons, legato flourishes, pull-offs, arpeggios, et cetera, et cetera, were old hat by the time the british hard rock bands started to emerge from the industrial hellholes. Medieval lute players, classical guitarists, jazz guitarists, flamenco guitarists, even iranian tambur or indian sitar players, and so on and so forth (the list goes on), had been doing that for a hundred years by that time. Metal "shredding" is but a very limited, one-dimensional subset of those techniques. Old hat. Not even worth a mention, not to mention (pun intended) it's actually factually false. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.181.201.82 (talk) 18:40, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Astbury Hall

Any evidence that Astbury Hall is open as a B&B? I can't find any references in Google. Rojomoke 14:27, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

LOL: About.com Interview

I was reading in your Wikipedia entry that your house in England, Astbury Hall, is also a bed and breakfast. Is that true?

No. That is quite ridiculous. I live on my own in a very large house, but I love it. I bought it because it’s in a secluded location and I like to make serious amounts of loud noise. I can really turn up my Marshalls really loud in this place. It’s a big old Victorian house. Everybody said I was mad when I purchased it. It had some land with it, and I bought all the surrounding land, about 450 acres. Now it’s about 720 acres. I do have permission to eventually convert it to a hotel and leisure complex. Maybe when I struggle to get up these four flights of stairs, who knows? For years when I was a struggling musician I lived in just one room, so it’s good to have a house with a recording studio and gym and everything I want. So it’s not a bed and breakfast, but if anybody wants to come and stay, they are more than welcome! More Scieberking (talk) 18:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

"Mr Downing's former cohabitee Miss Lissimore's claims against Astbury Hall were reported as 'Downing v Lissimore' [2003] 2 FLR 308, a leading authority on cohabitee claims."

This entry in the HOMES section makes no sense to me at all (24.205.148.23 03:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC))

But why did he quit?

Should be something about that in the article, if information about this has been given. --46.9.227.200 (talk) 16:38, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

"Dear friends,
It is with much regret that I will not be with you this summer. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns about my health. Please rest assured that I am O.K.
There has been an ongoing breakdown in working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band's management for some time.
Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans.
However I would urge you to please support the Priest as I have no doubt that it will be a show not to be missed.
All my love and respect," (http://www.kkdowning.net/home.html)
This should probably be quoted from, regarding his retirement. --46.9.227.200 (talk) 05:22, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

He quit to play golf, and apparently set at least a few world records in the process, as the wiki page currently says that he "rented a house in Hawaii and played golf for seven months straight." I would think playing golf for 7 months straight must be a world record, not to even mention that he must have also been awake for those 7 months, so that's another record right there! - ANON IP

Gear missing

In the gear section, the treble booster is missing. This was a crucial part of kk's and Glenn's sound in the early stages of the band. KhlavKhalash (talk) 09:16, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Sweep picking

I read this a lot, but where's proof for this? In which song does KK use sweep picking? KhlavKhalash (talk) 07:19, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
