Julieta Schildknecht (April 7, 1960, São Paulo) is a Swiss-Brazilian photographer who grew up in Sao Paulo. After completing a law degree at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, she spent a few years working in the advertising industry. During her three-year stay in New York, Schildknecht one year at the Parsons School of Design and worked in the fashion industry, and has been related to Liz Clayborne and Fiorucci in Sao Paulo. She moved to Switzerland, and worked during 3.5 years in private banking at UBS in Zurich. Since 2001, she is a freelance photographer. Since 2002, she has been linked to the Keystone picture agency, then in 2005 she was aggregated to the photo agency Agencia O Estado in São Paulo. Also in 2005, she attended the Visual Culture Studies with Katharina Sieverding at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. Schildknecht enrolled at the University of Zurich, Art History and Photography. She became a member of SIK-ISEA and ProLitteris registered in 2009. She is currently attending the Masters in Contemporary Art at Oxford Brookes University. Since 2002, her work can be seen at the James Mayor Gallery and Margaret Street Gallery in London.
