Friends with Mahler? edit

A book on Mahler (Floros, "Gustav Mahler: The Symphonies", as translated by Vernon & Jutta Wicker; 1985, trans. 1994; orig. pub. Breitkopf & Härtel, repub. in trans. by Amadeus Press, ISBN 0-931340-62-4; pp.52 et seq) mentions that he corresponded "[i]n the winter of 1893-1894" with his "friend Josef B. Foerster that he had started a new symphony" (that is, his 2nd) (same book has some interesting theories about Mahler's 1st and its relation, or rather lack thereof, with Jean-Paul's TItan, but that's neither here nor there) ("The first movement you know; it is my Todtenfeier." - etc.) Schissel | Sound the Note! 02:37, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
