unnecessary loss of information and references edit

At the last big revision of this article in August 2017, a lot of important information (e. g. instruments, influences) and many references were removed. For my opinion in a text about a professional musician it’s mandatory to mention the instruments he plays.

The result of the deleted references was this message: “This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification. Please help by adding reliable sources. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous or harmful. (August 2017) (Learn how and when to remove this template message)”

There had been enough information and references before this last big change. So this good and verified article was partly destroyed without any necessary or good reason. The explanation “copyedit - WP:SURNAME; remove content sourced to Facebook per WP:UGC; add tags; tone down puffery etc” doesn’t really helps to understand it. It’s not puffery to mention proven facts. Mr. Noyces own main source of information is on FB. Of course I would prefer sources from other sites and platforms. When you find them just tell. It is Mr. Noyces own decision where he puts his information. Nobody complaint about this references for years. If possible and existing, just add other or additional references. Some information was just deleted and written again in another line. It’s necessary to show and mention the influences, if they can be confirmed by references.

So please don’t destroy this article again and give understandable and good reasons for each change that makes sense. Leo067 (talk) 08:53, 7 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have again edited the article following the manual of style for things like use of name (see WP:SURNAME) and referencing. All content should be sourced to reliable sources and if it is not it can and should be removed. See WP:BLP for more information. Thanks, Melcous (talk) 10:20, 7 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
