There shouldn't be many worries about notability of Simpson, who is known as a biblical critic. See s:Page:Dictionary of National Biography volume 52.djvu/285 for his entry in the Dictionary of National Biography. The link on this page for the DNB has multiple problems (the Wikisource entry doesn't exist yet, would have to be as s:Simpson, John (1746-1812) (DNB00) for disambiguation reasons, and independently of all that there is some bug in {{DNB Cite}} that I only noticed last night). I can create the article at Wikisource shortly, and the template can be ignored for the moment.
Other than that, I'll do a copy edit. Once the text of the DNB article is posted the article can easily be expanded with biographical details. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:34, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
