Namesake edit
If John Marshall Clemens was named after the "Chief Justice" then he was named only when he was over two years old because John Marshall was not on the Supreme Court until 1801. (Almost like Hillary Clinton being named after Edmund Hillary years before he climbed Everest although at least Marshall was a known figure before 1801, e.g. the 1798 XYZ Affair. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.160.171 (talk) 23:09, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

His ancestors were not Cornish and I would like to see some evidence that they were slave owners. His real ancestry is detailed online here:
