What is the "Bigelow Manoeuvre"??? edit

I have nominated the bottom section as a candidate for cleanup. The second "Bigelow" description reads like a vanity page entry, and I was unable to find anything on Google about a "Bigelow manoeuvre" except citations of this Wikipedia entry. This Bigelow, who was added by an anonymous user, may be legitimate, but in either case I hope someone who knows about him (or knows this section is bogus/does not belong) can do some cleanup on this. Thanks. -MollyTheCat 03:27, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

My first thought was that it's likely to be bogus: the originating address 142.32.208.233 (talk · contribs) has a history of vandalism. However, this Bigelow genealogy page does refer to a "John G. Bigelow ... a senior pilot with Pan-Am". Doesn't look very notable though, and there's still no confirmation of the alleged Bigelow Manoeuvre. Tearlach 15:07, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for these comments, Tearlach, and thanks also to Awyllie for editing out this second Bigelow. I agree with the above remark that this other Bigelow is unlikely to be a notable figure at least by Wikipedia standards. -MollyTheCat 03:46, 25 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

FYI, Bigelow Maneuver is a medical procedure for hip dislocation. AND, I added a comment and link for John Bigelow, Jr. Jrcrin001 (talk) 06:34, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
