HDB
Why is the abbreviation HDB used? Is this some kind of official competitive eating initialism? Badagnani 08:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Gallon challenge
He completed it in 41 minutes, not 41 seconds. 41 seconds is quite impossible. 69.221.211.161 07:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

#1 ranking
Poemisaglock 02:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC) When did Chestnut move ahead of Kobayashi into the #1 ranked competitive eater in the world? {{ja:ジョーイ・チェスナット]] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.26.77.137 (talk) 04:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Ate hot dog when 2 weeks old?
I removed the following:
- He ate his first hot dog when he was two weeks old.[citation needed] He was on vacation at his Aunt's house in Point Pleasant, New Jersey on the fourth of July.
A two-week old infant has a stomach the size of a golf ball and no teeth to chew anything. Besides, what sort of parent would feed a hot dog to an infant? The claim is ridiculous on the face of it, and a quick search has produced no evidence in its favor, though, if true, one would expect to be able to find a reputable news source which includes the fact. Not to mention that his November birth day would mean he wouldn't be anything like 2 weeks old on the fourth of July. The original claim, that he was 5 years old at the time, may be true, but needs verification. Jacob1207 (talk) 04:37, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Hot Dog Figures
Whats with the inflated hot dog figures? As below in the old post:
- On July 4, 2007, Chestnut won the 92nd Annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, beating six-time defending champion Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi by consuming 69 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes, which set a new world record. The following year, he successfully defended his title by winning a 5 hot dog eat-off after tying Kobayashi in consuming 59 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. On July 4, 2009, Joey Chestnut outlasted Kobayashi again, by consuming a new world record of 73 hot dogs and buns and winning his third consecutive title.
When did joey ever eat 73 hot dogs? Amended to the correct figures as verified on Nathan's hot dog eating contest wikipedia page, as well as plenty of videos on youtube. Sanguine01 (talk) 17:23, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Bulimia and 'Goat Thigh Eating Competition'
I removed the following statement as it was not only not referenced, but eating 18 'Goat Thighs' in 4 minutes, 32 seconds, while battling a 'rare form of bulimia' seems a little dubious to me: "On July 2, 2007 Chestnut had a serious battle with a rare form of bulimia. His eating was monitored for 16 days. Fortunately, he was able to participate in the goat thigh eating competition where he set the world record with 18 goat thighs in 4 minutes and 32 seconds." His physical description in the first sentences
In the first one or two sentences, Chestnut is described as follows: The 6.1-foot-tall (1.9 m), 230-pound (100 kg) competitive eater is ...". I have never heard of someone being described as "6.1 feet tall". Does this mean that he is 6 feet, 1 inch tall? In other words, he is 6' 1" ...? This should be clarified and the "6.1 feet" wording should be removed. I would do it, but I have no idea how tall Chestnut is. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:46, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
Spouse
The lead states: Chestnut proposed to his longtime girlfriend Neslie Ricasa just before defending his title in the 2014 Nathan's competition. The couple split up in early 2015, prior to their scheduled wedding date. However, the Info Box lists "Spouse: Neslie Ricasa". So, which is it? Are they spouses or not? Thanks. Joseph A.
