Could someone verify that the copyright has expired on the poem reproduced on the page? --LostLeviathan 22:33, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Her poem Warning ... was identified as the UK's "most popular post-war poem" in a 1996 poll by the BBC." I feel that this needs clarification. My first thought was of the Nation's Favourite Poems poll from 1995, which actually listed Rudyard Kipling at number one. The BBC interview given in the sources mentions that Warning was "twice voted the nation's favourite post-war poem", but doesn't say who conducted the poll. I admit that I haven't listened to the interview, perhaps that clears things up. Several web pages use Wikipedia's formulation, and say that e.g. "in a poll conducted by the BBC, it was voted as Britain's favorite post-war poem", [1] but they don't give sources, and read as if the information has been copied and copied and copied again. I want to know who conducted the poll(s), when, what came second and third, what impact the polls had in the UK, and if there is an authoritative source to back this up. -Ashley Pomeroy 17:37, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Frida Kahlo edit

For spanish readers, the poem "warning" sounds very much in the spirit of a famous page from the diary of Frida Kahlo (the Mexican artist and cult figure),written a couple of decades earlier: "I wish I could do what I please, behind the curtain of "madness". I would arrange flowers all day, I would paint, pain, love and tenderness, I would laugh out loud at the stupidity of others, and everyone would just say poor woman ... she's just crazy ... "

On another topic, I guess it was indeed popular in britain. I first came across it in 1985; it was pinned up above a toilet at a man's eye level. The lady of the house, an actress, was ageing most graciously, literally becoming a "golden girl". I think she meant her "warning".

I know, this is not a forum, but I couldn't help myself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.76.255.220 (talk) 19:13, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
