Was this a notable storm?

I think despite the seriousness of this storm, it was not notable enough to warrant an article because it lacks the significance of why it is a notable storm. I know it hit a large portion of the United States, but does it make it noteworthy of an article? I hate to sound like a hardnosed person, but it wasn't that notable of a winter storm. There were far more significant storms and some of those don't have articles, but why does this? 71.10.171.130 (talk) 03:21, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

There were 65 fatalities, in this day and age in the United States, 65 people being killed from a winter storm is very significant. Cyclonebiskit 20:38, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Also, maybe you do not think it was notable because you didn't live through it. Loosing your electricity for a week is no laughing matter, and when thousands upon thousands do, it is serious. Kentucky called up the entire National Guard. --Bub Bidderskins (talk) 16:19, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

It was a pretty amazing weather event. Seeing a medium sized city like mine (100,000+) come to a complete halt, absolutely devastated and impassible, was very wild. On a side note: the author of this article MUST use some paragraphs to break the article up. It's unreadable in its current format. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.22.214.81 (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
