The article should be in the past-tense, since Mr van Halen is dead.
Also, I will add the fact that Van Halen's 1988 album OU812 is dedicated to Eddie and Alex's father. The liner notes say, 'This one's for you, Pa.' --Bentonia School10:36, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure whether Mr Van Halen really was a "native of Sweden", as is stated in this article. Dutch biographies of his life and work do not refer to a life in Sweden. He and his family lived in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, when his sons Eddie and Alex were born, which is obviously not Sweden. Also, "Jan van Halen" is a very Dutch name, so it is very doubtful he was a native of Sweden, or was born there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zighlveit (talk • contribs) 14:26, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
