This man is clearly Scottish not English - place of birth and education .I have changed nationality to reflect this Argyll Lassie 11:07, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Order of Bath edit
The article states that Gairdner was created a Commander of the Order of Bath.
This confused me as there are no "commanders", only "knight commanders"; and he's not called Sir James Gairdner.
His listing within the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography makes no mention of receiving the Order of Bath. And I can't find anything online referring to him as "Sir".
So is it just an error? --Rushton2010 (talk) 19:48, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
