Indian government in February 2019 declared the Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir as "an unlawful association whose activities have the potential of disrupting the unity and integrity of India". Before imposing the five-year-long ban on Jamaat, more than 250 leaders and cadres of the organisation were picked up by police during nocturnal raids throughout the Kashmir Valley.

It is mentioned in the article , Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (the Indian branch of the Jamaat) . It is clearly mentioned in Jamaat-e-Islami_Hind page that it is an independent wing, offshoot from the Pre-Independence Jamaat. It is not a Indian branch of JI Pakistan. Please Change Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (the Indian branch of the Jamaat) to just Jamaat-e-Islami HindIrfannaseefp (talk) 10:10, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
