Quality of article

edit

Hey Jalindia this article has been deleted twice earlier and this time again its tagged for speedy deletion. Can you please put in more details. I have been working on articles of IIT Roorkee alumni so I'll help you in formatting and putting together this article. Put in details under following headings:

  • Early life and education
  • Career
  • Personal life
  • Honors and Awards

Give as much external references as possible and not all from your company pages see WP:PSTS. Since you are associated with the company of Mr. Gaur be extra careful on WP:NPOV. - abhi (talk) 07:01, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest

edit

The company account User:Jalindia ("'Jaiprakash Associates Limited'" India) created this article. It should not be deleted, as a billionaire with foreign press coverage is undoubtedly notable, and the JAL account has been blocked as a company account; but we need to be conscious of these matters. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:51, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Earlier I was planning on starting this article on my userspace and then move it to article space when ready but now that User:Jalindia have already started it lets try to put together a good article. It definitely has got potential. - abhi (talk) 03:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have started restructuring the article, also expanded with references. Can you please review if the COI and Cleanup tag can be removed now? - abhi (talk) 05:27, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The references need to be tidied up, with author, date, etc. See WP:CITE for some guidance on that. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:21, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Specifically, it seems to me that if these are references to what were originally magazine articles, then rather than use web-citation formats, we should use print citation formats, which provide better data rather than simply URLs. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:26, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup tag

edit

I came upon this article just to remove an italic text mis-edit, but ended up taking a stab at cleanup; it's been tagged since September 2008 and I see that is was questioned here last year if cleanup could be removed. I'm more a vandal-fighter than a cleanup artist, but I've done all I know (since I'm in the states and not Indian). I've removed that tag, but left one for more references, since none of his honors / awards are cited. I also amended the first heading to be Education, since that is all it currently reads as content. Perhaps that section could be expanded and I guess I could tag that, but not if it would only invite more uncited text. Fylbecatulous talk 16:43, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
