Untitled
editI'm pretty sure this article has its wires crossed. Richthofen did indeed command Jasta 11, though I don't think it was created to showcase him. The unit the article seems to be talking about is actually Jagdgeschwader 1 (JG-1), the Flying Circus, the unit Richthofen commanded after Jasta 11 (though I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Jasta 11 was one of the—IIRC—four jagdstaffeln united in JG-1). I'll fix it when I can pull together a couple of sources but invite anyone who can beat me to it to go ahead and do so. Binabik80 00:23, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
The most recent addition is incorrect; reinhart was commander of JG 1 ( of which jasta 11 was a part) Goering was made JG 1 commander, not jasta 11 commander- he came to JG 1 direct from Jasta 27. Harryurz 14:42, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Comparison with 56 Squadron
editThe added comparison entry, while useful, is , im my opinion, misleading. RFC claims procedures were far less stringent and the 427 total includes claims for 'out of control', which would not have been allowed by the German Air Service. Add to that the fact that 56 Squadron was not the highest scoring RFC squadron (No. 20 claimed 613) and the Squadron wasn't at the front the same amount of time as Jasta 11 and the comparision appears tenuous and unneccessary. If all are agreeable I will either qualify the text or delete it. Thanks. Harryurz (talk) 13:25, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
10 to 1 casualty ratio
editThe ending sentence is nonsensical. Dividing claimed victories over British aircraft by the number of human casualties is simply an enormous fallacy. Airplane casualties simply do not equate to human ones. And then there is the notorious overclaim factor....
The blue max
editNot sure its worth mentioning, but the movie "The Blue Max" and its main character is a pilot in the "Jasta 11" squadron. 83.253.32.171 (talk) 21:31, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
