editHenricus Antonius Johannes (Jan) Lokin (1945) is a former Dutch professor of legal history , particularly Roman law at the University of Groningen (RUG ) .
Lokin studied law at the University of Leiden and Groningen University and graduated in 1967 , after which he went to work as a research assistant at the University of Groningen. He graduated in 1973 with prof. Mr. H. J. Scheltema , whom he succeeded in 1977 as professor of Roman law at the University of Groningen .
Lokin is a member of the Academy and was a term president of the Association of Dutch Lawyers. Even two years he was president of the International Dickens Fellowship. [1]
Lokin gave his last lecture of law on December 1, 2009 at Groningen University in the cinema Pathé . He then retired .
