Title ambiguous

Grater Italy means to overlap the Italian State with the Italian Nation, i.e. unify all the lands considered parts of the Italian Nation because of ethnicity, history, physic geography. It may fit with Corsica, Tessin, Nice, Dalmatia. For France has been the case of Alsace and could be in the future French Switzerland, French Belgium, French Canada, Aosta Valley, Channel Islands. Greater Romania was achieved in 1918 and Greater Croatia in the 90s. Imperial Italy means colonialism and expansionism and is definitely something else It may involve any other land in Africa, in the Mediterranean area, etc. --Deguef (talk) 11:20, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

A GREAT CONFUSION ON CONCEPTS AND FIGURES

• Mentioning Italians in the territories seen as targets of Italian exansion policy some considerations are needed.

First Istria has to be deleted because after WW I was a part of Italy. Secondly are mixed together 3 kinds of people: (1) ethnic Italians (eg. swiss citizens of the Italian Switzerland, a small part of Dalmatians, Corsicans: French citizen ethnic Italians, part of the inhabitants of the Nice County; (2) people speaking fluent Italian but not as the mother language (in Dalmatia, Malta, some in Greek Islands and in Savoy); (3) immigrants from Italy, sometimes with foreign citizenship, in France, Switzerland, Tunisia, Libia, Egypt. --Deguef (talk) 09:49, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Maltese language

as is going on in a long-term discussion that comes and goes on this page, some users are trying to push the idea that Maltese is purely arabic with only an insignificant input from Sicilian and Maltese. I was hoping that some people here, having studied this sort of thing, will be able to help get rid of the POV pushers, and show that Maltese is just as equally Italian (well... Italian Palestine

In 1940:

In England, the Manchester Guardian reported that the Axis powers plan to turn Palestine over to the jurisdiction of the Vatican and transport Palestine's Jewish population to Ethiopia.

Under the plan, said the Guardian, the Pope will care for the holy places in Palestine, let Italy run the country.

Greater Italy is different from Imperial Italy

Greater Italy, as well as greater Romania, greater Croatia, greater Bulgaria, greater Hungary, greater Ukraine, greater Poland had very little to do with imperial Italy, which encompassed also African and Near East territories.--Deguef (talk) 08:40, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Deguef. A project named "Greater Italy", with the same meaning ascribed to Greater Germany or Greater Hungary, does not exist. It is called "Italia Irredenta" (see Irredentism and Italian irredentism) and of course does not include the African colonies. This page refers to the fascist project of an Imperial Italy (see Spazio vitale). --Enok (talk) 01:57, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Correct the mistakes on the maps of "Imperial Italy", or do not re-add them

Highly inaccurate map claiming to represent the territories that Fascist Italy sought to include in metropolitan Italy. It has multiple serious mistakes on it.

Another inaccurate map, based off the one above, but includes Greece within the territories.

Map of Libya produced in 1940. Shows the southern border of the four coastal provinces that were incorporated into metropolitan Italy in 1939.

The maps shown here presenting the territorial ambitions of an "Imperial Italy" (basically an expanded metropolitan Italy excluding non-metropolitan colonial lands) do not match up with the territories that Fascist Italy did and sought to seize.

• The eastern border shown in these maps does not show Kosovo within it, that Italy annexed into its dependency of Albania in 1941.
• The border of metropolitan Italy in Libya is completely wrong. Italy annexed Libya's four coustal provinces in 1939, here is a map from 1940 of Libya that shows these four provinces.
• The maps do not show Ticino, Valais and Graubünden that the Fascist regime declared that sought to annex in its 1940 negotiations with Germany.
• The map at the top does not show the French section of Savoy that the Fascist regime in 1940 declared that sought to annex, albeit after some wavering on this by Mussolini two years earlier.
• The maps do not show the province in northeastern Algeria that Italy sought to incorporate alongside Tunisia into an expanded Libya, that the Fascist regime in 1940 declared that sought to annex.

Sorry, but I don't see mistakes in the map.Kosovo and Ticino are included, as can be seen enlarging the map.Algeria, Savoy, southern Switzerland were only discussed but never requested officially (as happened with Corfu). The coastal provinces of Italian Libya are included, so.....what's the problem? B.D.
