Irish prisons

edit

Murry, that minister is only responsible for some Irish prisons. Much as Irish nationalists would prefer otherwise, that's just the way it is. Gob Lofa (talk) 16:10, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

No the other prisons on the island are British, hence why those who look after the Irish ones are members of the Irish Prison service. Murry1975 (talk) 16:15, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
So the people who live in Northern Ireland are British? Gob Lofa (talk) 19:36, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
A loaded remark Gob. Not even going to be drawn in on a petty comment like that. But I will clarify, British Law , British Police force, British judicatory, British Prisons. Alternatively, PSNI, Dept. of Justice from the NI Assembly NI prison Service, Northern Irish Prisons. Murry1975 (talk) 12:23, 6 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Does everyone drink in British pubs? Was the GFA for naught? Gob Lofa (talk) 13:05, 6 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Blurring the lines between fact and your POV is well clear. The GFA never changed the sovereign judicatory. Again, if you will stick to the point and stop dancing around trying to cloud the issue. Murry1975 (talk) 13:36, 6 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
OK. You're telling us that Irish people may exist in northeastern Ireland, but if they live in concrete boxes, the concrete must be British. Right? Let me know if I'm hot or cold. Gob Lofa (talk) 01:24, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
You are side stepping the issue and entering into your voiced opinion again, if you want to seek consensus now of your edit, BRD as such, which you like quoting but hate to follow. Murry1975 (talk) 12:35, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Wrong again. I've no problem with you referring to ROI prisons as Irish, or referring to prisons in NI as British or Northern Irish. My problem is with you giving the impression that a Dublin government minister has responsibility for all Irish prisons, i.e. all prisons in Ireland, when they don't. Please stop. Gob Lofa (talk) 13:08, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Stop contradicting yourself, the edit stood for FIVE years nearly, since the article was written. He has responsibility for all prisons in Ireland and that is a term you dont like and are pushing your point of view. Murry1975 (talk) 13:13, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Please stop using misleading pipes in this discussion; you know well that the Republic of Ireland is only part of Ireland. What offends you so much about 'most Irish prisons'? Do you really believe the adjective 'Irish' ought only apply to the ROI? Gob Lofa (talk) 13:24, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Not a misleading pipe, it is actually apart of WP:MOS and you dont like it. Do I believe that Irish should only apply to the state? No. Do I believe that prisons in the UK should be British, yes. Do I see a need to "qualify" as Irish for the state on a governance article? No. Do I believe you slow edit war on multiple articles that you personally want to influence with your views? Yes. Do I believe uninvolved editors have given you good advice and you have ignored all? Yes. Murry1975 (talk) 13:38, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Wrong. I linked to Ireland; you then linked to the Republic of Ireland but unless someone new to the conversation clicked on your link, they couldn't have known this, because it looked like you were also linking to the Ireland article. A 'governance article'? Please. Your attempts to deflect attention from your slow edit war fool no-one. Gob Lofa (talk) 15:34, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

I was linking to the article on the state, Ireland as is its name, long and short form, despite your shouting "irredentism". Yes jurisdiction and governance, or are you not following, it is an article on the Irish Prison Service. "Your attempts to deflect attention from your slow edit war fool no-one", Here is YOUR bold edit which has been challenged. You are not proving anything for your edit. But if it is an edit war, 3RR page is where we should bring that, no? Murry1975 (talk) 15:47, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Can you understand how saying the minister is responsible for Irish prisons could confuse? Gob Lofa (talk) 16:51, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Can you understand he is not responsible for British prisons? Murry1975 (talk) 17:00, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
I know she's not, and I also know that British has more than one meaning. Will you answer my question? Gob Lofa (talk) 19:03, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Piping is correct per WP:IMOS. Nobody could realistically be confused about whether the article is about prisons in Northern Ireland as well Ireland. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 11:20, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

The piping is not at issue; implying that Fitzgerald is responsible for all prisons in Ireland is. Gob Lofa (talk) 15:02, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Nobody could realistically be confused about whether the article is about prisons in Northern Ireland as well as Ireland. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 21:36, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Not if we follow my wording, no. Gob Lofa (talk) 21:48, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Realistically, if we follow Murry's wording, nobody could be confused into thinking the article is about prisons in Northern Ireland as well as the Republic. Scolaire (talk) 22:33, 10 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
